Apple’s line of in-house processors that was first announced at WWDC in 2020. The Apple M1 will allow the company to ditch Intel processors from Mac computers for good.
The first computers with Apple M1 were Mac mini 2020, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. The new processor has increased performance and battery life by several times, making these computers the fastest on the market.
The Apple M1 is the first of a line of Apple Silicon processors that the company has developed to replace Intel chips. It is assumed that Apple Silicon will integrate all future Apple processors on ARM – Apple M2, Apple M3, and so on.
